The Better Man- CD

$16.00

Award-winning songwriter, entertainer, multi-instrumentalist and trained Vocalist Eric Schwartz has crafted an extraordinary CD.  The Better Man combines eclectic styles and smart, inventive lyrics with first rate musical contributions from Los Angeles first-call players (collectively backing Bruce Springsteen, The Goo Goo Dolls, Shakira, The Eagles and "Weird Al" Yankovic, to name a very, very few.) Co-produced and mixed by the brilliant Will Kennedy, The Better Man's sound more than lives up to the players thereon.

The Better Man straddles a wide range of American styles:  Rock, Soul, Funk, Country, Gospel, Blues. Counting Bill Withers, Elvis Costello, Ray Charles, Billy Joel,  John Prine and Frank Sinatra as influences, Schwartz has learned from the best.

The Better Man completes a two-CD project.  The first was The Aristocrat, a collection of the kind of songs on which Schwartz build his reputation: Comedic, Political, Edgy, Fearless. Such work got him airplay on All Things Considered, Howard Stern 101 and The Ed Schultz Show, and even The Bob & Tom Show. About "The Aristocrat," respected writer Paul Zollo ("Songwriters on Songwriting") says:

"The guy takes on content other people don’t consider touching in songs,...the world needs funny songs when they’re well-written. He’s glib and poetic at the same time, and always with a fine gift for rhyme."

About The Better Man, Brian Keathley of KALX Berkeley says: "This is by far his best work yet. A great collection of tunes with humor, and social commentary - some of which is damn profound. Be listening for it this week and beyond on my radio shows! "
